Health is Better than Gold - By Budhil Basu

Once upon a time, Jones and I were walking through the forest. Jones was trying to take pictures and write notes of birds as he was a birdwatcher. Suddenly, a man took us somewhere into the forest. Oh I see it! It was a box sparkling with diamonds and necklaces.   Jones was excited and he touched the diamonds.   On doing so he immediately shrunk in size!   He was now angry and unhappy. I took him in my hand but unfortunately I too shrunk to the same size as him!   What a disaster! A man called Mr. Max picked us up in his hand and went inside a cottage. Mr. Max was a kind man and a doctor from the USA. He knew how to heal us but the bottle containing the medicine was empty. So he had to refill the bottle. It took him approximately two hours to do so. Mr. Max healed us and he realized that our health is better than gold so he went back to his hobby and I too enjoyed myself.

What I Learned From The Wild - By Tianna Thakur

Image
Nature is a beautiful thing. Nature gives us the very things we need to survive and how are we repaying it? By destroying its trees for our selfish wishes. Nature gives us everything it has and therefore we learn our first lesson: Don’t be selfish, even if the person or thing you are generous too doesn’t pay you back. Nature is a stress reliever. These days lots of squishy balls and fidget spinners and more are being sold, primarily because of how much stress we are facing because of this pandemic. But do we really need these expensive toys? Or was a hidden stress reliever right under our nose all along? Sometime, just go to a forest or field. Just close your eyes and listen to all the sounds around you. The birds chirping, leaves rustling and the sounds of bees buzzing around, collecting nectar. If you are patient, within no time you will find yourself sleeping. That is because nature is peaceful. It does not have any anger in it, nor sadness, nor stress. That leads us to our secon...

But a rainbow comes with a companion One brings joy, while the other usually brings sorrow They arrive with such fashion! Ah those two, they are rain and rainbow! The rainbow looks like a burst of colours Almost like it’s been dipped in dye! One thing no one wants to do with a rainbow, Is say goodbye!

My first hands on experience of being an officer - By Aryan Ali Khan

Tibia Apartment Survey Park Kolkata 700075 6 th August 2021   Dear Grandma I have finally passed the exams and have become a DSP officer. It was not very hard. This is my first day experience of being a DSP. After giving my exam I returned home and told the good news to my parents.   They were so happy to hear this news. They always wanted me to get a government job. My first day at the police station was wonderful. When I woke up, I wore my normal attire (as I didn’t have a DSP uniform as yet).   Suddenly I heard sirens and when I looked out, I saw an ambassador with the siren glowing, two army cars with police officers carrying heavy weapons, one on the front and the other at the back. The moment I stepped out of my house, all the police officers saluted me. I got into the car and reached the police station in Lal Bazar. This was the first time I saw a police station. Then an IS officer, apparently my senior as I saluted him, he taught me how to shoot in ...

A Fish Named Dog - By Aatharva Mangalam

I really wanted to have a pet. I wanted a dog but I could only get a silly, plain goldfish so today we are going to go to the pet store so I can get one.   I decided to take a small one which is actually cute. I decided to call it “Dog”.   The next day everyone asked me about dog whether it goes for a walk or not? Yes, I put dog’s fish tank in my basket and wheel him around.   Can he play fetch?   Yes it catches all the food in the fish tank. One day my friend Max came to my house.   He really wanted to see my pet dog.   Now I felt a bit bad about lying. When he saw my pet, he said, “You lied to everyone! This is just a silly old goldfish.” I got angry when Max called Dog silly and old so I showed him all the tricks it could do, how he could go on walks and how it lets me feed it. Then he said, “I think goldfish are kind of cool.” Yes Dog is very cool.

Mystery of London Chapter 1 - The Hotel - By Budhil Basu

It was my first trip to London with John Mason and Robert Wilson. I was very excited but the thing was I was only an Indian and they were German. The plane took 15hrs to reach the destination. John was excited but unfortunately had to get off the plane. He had forgotten to bring his purse. So a confusion arose and I saved him from getting off.   I helped him with some money. Robert was sleeping and John was busy playing a football game on his mobile, so I ordered something to eat and later fell asleep.  Finally, the plane arrived at the destination. I ran in a jiffy to see my dream city, London. We booked a car, paid for the ride and went to a hotel named Alstar-bolstar.   The manager   who welcomed us was Mr. Roody.   The hotel was very clean. The room we were given was like a scenery.   The weather was cold. We thanked John for booking the hotel.
