Halloween Night - By Mahii Mall

This story is about the night before Halloween. Long-long ago there lived a dangerous scary witch who came every year on the night before Halloween. She used to say to beware of boys who turn 25 years old on Halloween day.

I have an elder cousin who was coming to our village named Phaphra. He was coming to celebrate his birthday and he did not believe in ghosts.

So, our family was really scared. He also bought a girl with him.  He said that she was his girlfriend. My brother was born on 31^st of October at 5:00 am. The girlfriend was called a curse in the village.

On Halloween day at 12:00 midnight,  he cut a cake and when everyone saw that nothing happened to him, they were afraid no more. They threw the girl out.  The boy was sad but decided to bring her back in the morning.

When the girl went home and asked her nani as to why she is called cursed.  Nani told her the story. 

It was 1:30am at that time and reaching the village would take 3hours and then from the village to the mountains it would take another 1hour 30mins.  So the girl ran as fast as she could.

 

When the boy almost reached the hill, the girl was already there.  She called the mother soul and told her that she was her daughter and to please leave the men and remove the curse. 

The mother tried to make her understand that men are not good but the daughter’s love has defeated the mother’s misunderstanding.

The boy and girl got married and the curse was broken.  The whole village attended the wedding.  The people too realized their mistake and apologized and called her by her name.
