The Best Oven - By Akshaj Banik

'The best oven' is the name of my shop but I never had a best oven, instead I have lots of old collections of them.

There was a rumor in the city that it was the 'best bakery'. My first customer's name was frank. He was one of my best friends in school but had left after a few days.

He asked me, “How many variations of cake do you have?”

I replied, “Which variety do you want?

He said, “A birthday cake for my mother.”

I asked, “When is it?

He said, “Day after tomorrow”.

So I said, “I will deliver the cake”.

I gave him a book and asked him to see different cake designs. He chose a cake with three candles on it.  The cost was $19.  He gave me a $5 advance.

The next day when I was on my way to give the cake to him, I thought of how lucky I am for it was my first income.  I successfully delivered the cake but instead of paying me $14, he gave me $20.  I closed my shop for the day and went home.

The next day when I went to open the shop, I saw a line of people gathered there. Today I made $147.  When the stock of cakes were finished, I called the bakery headquarters and ordered 147 more cakes.

I was peaceful at last!
