The Donkey, Fox and the Lion - By Subhayan Samanta

Once there was a donkey and a fox.  They were friends. They once thought of travelling to a jungle near their home.

 

When they entered the jungle, they saw the king of the forest, the lion sitting on a rock. The fox thought of a plan.  He decided to kill his friend the donkey and enjoy its flesh. So he told the lion, “If you promise not to kill me sir, I will help you trap a donkey.” The king of the jungle agreed.

 

Then the fox threw his friend into a deep hole. He then called the lion to come and enjoy the donkey’s flesh.

 

When the lion saw that the hole was to deep for him to climb down, he instantly pounced on the fox to kill him. The fox didn’t understand what was going on and grew frightened.  He said to the lion, “But sir… your pro…..” The fox couldn’t complete his sentence for the lion had already pounced with his claws and started to kill him with his teeth.

 

Moral: Never believe your enemy!
