A Visit to the Farm - By Aarush Karmakar
Once upon a time in
Panvel, two children named Raj and Priya, during their summer vacation decided
to visit an animal farm. They wanted to visit the farm as they had not seen one
since childhood.
When they reached the
farm, they were very excited and could not believe that they were finally in the
place they wanted to visit since childhood. Both of them were brother and
sister (twins) and studied in the VII standard .Whey they were small, their
grandparents told them lots of stories about animal farms. The farm which they
were visiting belonged to their grandparents. After the passing of their grandparents,
there was no one to take care of the farm. Their parents had no time to visit
or took care of the farm. It was their grandparent’s last wish to take great
care of the farm as they loved the place and its location. From that day onwards,
their parents promised to visit the farm at least once a month and see to its
well-being.
When they reached the
farm, they found the farm in a horrible condition. The animals were treated
brutally, not given food on time and many animals were found dead. The chicks
were running everywhere in search of food, the pigs were lying here and there
in hunger, the trees had lost its greenery and the caretaker who had been given
the responsibility could not be seen anywhere. Raj and Priya got angry and
decided to do everything on their own. They cleaned the farm, watered the
plants and trees, fed the chicks and bathed the pigs. Soon after that, all the
animals started feeling energized and rejuvenated. The chicks were happy and
running about as they had never done before.
Finally all the animals were fine and healthy and on
seeing them, Raj and Priya experienced immense joy and pleasure. After
returning home, they felt satisfied that they had kept their promise to their grandparent’s
and now the latter’s soul would happily rest in peace.
