A Memorable Teacher's Day 2018 - By Anusri Majumdar

We celebrate teacher’s Day annually on 5th of September in our school. 5th September 2018 was very special to me as it was my last’Teachers Day in Edison Primary. The preparation started a week ago for the function. Four students were selected as class coordinators from Pasture and Flamingo class. Parents also participated and were allowed to put up stalls. The decoration was organized by the Parents’ Governor.

The function was to start from 3pm and everybody had been working very hard since morning. After everybody had arrived and taken their respective seats, the program started. The welcome speech thanking all our teachers was given by Nikisha, Lamar, Harris and Jasleen. Then our headmistress Mrs. Dhokal gave a speech thanking the children and the parents for organizing the event. The program then had dance performances, songs, elocution by children of all the classes. The children’s coordinators served water and snacks to all of us in the hall. After the first half of the program, everyone was asked to proceed to the playground.

Our playground was decorated beautifully with all the lighting and stalls. Everyone started enjoying themselves. Some went to the food stalls to eat, some to the games stalls, while some started dancing. With foods like pizza, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, cupcakes etc. everyone started lining up in-front of the food stalls. The game zone was occupied by students whereas the gift counter was busy serving the parents. We had a chance to dance with our teachers to loud music. Everybody had a wonderful evening and it was the best Teacher’s Day celebration. Even though I have now joined a new school, I still miss my teachers from Edison Primary.
